voluntary blood donation camp for thalassemia and sickle cell society

We, Aathmiya foundation arranged a blood donation camp for thalassemia affected children.

Thalassemia is a blood disorder passed down through families (inherited) in which the body makes an abnormal form of hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. The disorder results in excessive destruction of red blood cells, which leads to anemia.Treatment for thalassemia major often involves regular blood transfusions.

Including our volunteer's and team members nearly 100 members donated blood today. The camp was organized in Bahadurpally village, near grama panchayathi office in Hyderabad. There was a good response from our college students(Malla Reddy Group Of Institutions). We are happy that over 100 children are getting their blood transfused and live a little more.
